Cave dwelling, darkness lurking, soul swallowing tones from the abyss, that’s all Void Column is about.
These unknown Canadians…or Canadian for that matter, are worshipping the dark and cold space of nothingness which results in this “The Chasmic Death” demo, a dark yet putrid Death/Doom Metal massiveness. With both Old School Death Metal riffing and up-tempo savageness, the music easily transforms into slow Doom passages with an occasional use of keys to emphasize the atmosphere. This 3 track demo has a fitting crunchy guitar sound, a bit like the old Finnish Abhorrence, but more down tuned.
I don’t think it will take long before Void Column will be approached to reissue this demo on vinyl or cassette, or to release new material. A top notch demo!
