A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

From out of nowhere comes this new band. All the instruments are handled by one man, Ynleborgaz. Two years ago he released his first demo, but I never mentioned that one. On ‘Kampen Fortsætter’ we can hear perfect raw Black Metal with a Norwegian sound.

Every track on this self-released debut is different, from atmospheric keyboard parts to un-polished Black Metal in the vein of Darkthrone. Other comparable bands are Judas Iscariot, Ildjarn and Ulver at the time of ‘Nattens Madrigal’.

All the instruments are mixed out with a harsh sound, but this just fits to this kind of music. The cd is provided with a nice designed booklet, containing the lyrics. There is no information about this person, so I don’t know if he plays in other bands too.

You will have to get this record if you are into misanthropic Black Metal, for example ‘Da Frostvind Blæste’ is an old song from the previous demo and it could just be a song from Nattens Madrigal. Denial of God has finally got some competition and with the prospect of the coming release ‘Nordens Stolte Krigere’ they will hopefully reach a wider audience. H

opefully I can still get a copy from the previous demo as Angantyr has really convinced me that even in this time there can still be made old-fashioned Black Metal.
