A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Amputory from Finland has returned with their second demo. Having ex-members of bands like Ajattara and Am I Blood (once called as the new Metallica by Nuclear Blast… that one backfired…) in the ranks you would probably think these guys know a thing or two of making music in general. More interesting is the link with Pestigore, a Finnish Death Metal band of the early 1990s era who released 4 demos. With Amputory and especially “Unclean” these guys went Old School Death Metal again, with a huge 1990s sauce all over it. With bits of Obituary, early Six Feet Under, Bolt Thrower and Carcass launches 3 tracks of uncompromising Death Metal. When Amputory is speeding up, the Carcass influence becomes more clear. I don’t think “Unclean” will get the labels in line to sign them, but it’s certainly a pleasant demo and pleasant still after a couple of spins. (Ricardo)
