A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

It seems to be a trend, 2 track demos. Still, a nice and easy way to get your band noticed. Especially new bands with all the specialized websites like Bandcamp nowadays. Disgraved is such a band. Unknown to me before, but it seems this duo are from France and just formed Disgraved. Although enjoying the nice nature of France, members DM and Korwent have more sympathy towards Scandinavia. Sweden to be more precise. The sound is a bit dusty and at the beginning of “Untoten Whermacht” I can’t help it to have a “it’s a bit thin” thought as well. I do enjoy the use of two different vocals (low growl and a Pentacle- Wannes Gubbles-like grunt) which is a nice variation. I do hope they find a drummer with flesh, bones and a thirst for good Belgium beers, as the drumcomputer does reduce the quality of this demo in my opinion. The songs aren’t stunning but still decent and good enough to get some underground labels interested. (Ricardo)
