XI-Void – PanDemonic [Demo]

xi-void – pandemonic [demo]

Info

This young quartet from the northern parts of The Netherlands plays a mixture of thrash metal and heavy metal. Pretty reminiscent to bands like later Death, Iced Earth, Megadeth and Control Denied.

Mostly played on mid-tempo with some faster parts they are a bit on the odd-side of the metallic spectrum, yet they are no the worst band in that area. In fact they pull off quite some interesting things here and there, but they fail to get their sound straight so a lot details (including the vocals) seem to get a bit lost in space. The mix is also something they have to keep an eye on with recording a demo next time, as it all sounds a bit murky and chaotic at times. But as this is a demo, this is not the main thing to be judged on. Musically it sounds all a bit dated, but that has its charm especially when its done by youngsters, what really pops up is the talented guitarist Martin Uildriks on this demo.

Conclusion, there is still a lot to do for XI-Void, but the first steps have been made and they don’t have to be ashamed on anything they have recorded here. I’m curious what the future brings. Applause for the nice cover, by the way.
