A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

When you throw Gutvoid and Perilaxe Occlusion together in a nuclear power plant, then Curse Of Flesh is the highly radioactive result. A lethal dose of Death Metal that radiates out of your speakers. These guys from Laurens, South Carolina, make house franki_boj shake to its foundations, with their two-track demo.

“Anunnaki” opens slowly with a heavy sound and a strange, seemingly faltering bass drum tempo, which gives the track a slight desorienting feel. The differences in speed, the heaviness and the grooves displayed, are just harbingers of what is yet to come during the second track, “Perpetual Rot”. It fires off furiously, only to come to an abrupt halt. After a short sample, it seems like Curse Of Flesh took the best parts out of three different songs and melted them down into one, savage beast of a track.

Effortlessly switching back and forth between thunderous drumbeats, flashing accelerations and bone shattering grooves.

The varied structure of both songs, the tight and powerful execution and the crystal clear yet rutted production makes this two-track demo as exciting as taking the touristic walking route through Mariupol. (Franki_boj)
