Behind this new Finnish act are two anonymous individuals going under the names of “Desecrator Of Holy Cunt” and “Priest Of Angel Sodomy”, but at least one of them is usually known to his friends as Niko Thomasson, who also goes by the name of Behemoth in bands like Aske and Kurnugia. He has been an active figure in the Finnish Black Metal scene since the very early 90’s and he wears that experience proudly on his sleeve with Cursed Penetrator.

Yes, ‘Satanic Slaughter’ sounds thoroughly authentic Finnish. This 4-track demo pummels along the trademarks of that early Finnish bass-heavy sound and creeps awfully close to the heroes of yesteryear. A noisy and minimalistic approach with loads of overdriven bass, guitars and vocals make this a vortex of memories of a distant past. Non-sophisticated, primitive and primal Black Metal done with conviction and palpable dedication. Something that really should appeal to those who like their Black Metal raw and unpolished and do not care for slick productions or musical diversity. This pure evil captured on tape.

Nope, not quite the easy going Black Metal stuff for your regular Watain-fan, but if you have a weak spot for bands like early Archgoat, Barathrum or Azazel (of which Behemoth also happen to have been a part of at some point in history) and the likes of early Samael, Mystifier, Profanatica and Root… Then you could consider ‘Satanic Slaughter’ to be your next stop.
