Me Saco Un Ojo Records and Rotted Life announce new album from Filth: “‘Death Exhibition’ sees the power-trio sounding both more finessed and more barbaric.”

July 6, 2026

Me Saco Un Ojo Records and Rotted Life are proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Sweden’s Filth, ‘Death Exhibition’. Me Saco Un Ojo will release the album in Europe on CD and vinyl LP formats, while Rotted Life will release it in the United States on CD and cassette tape formats.

Sweden’s Filth have a knack for fitting album covers. The one to last year’s celebrated ‘Time to Rot’ debut album captured its psychedelically putrid contents perfectly, and so does the cover to their sophomore full-length, ‘Death Exhibition’. Whereas that no-less-weighty debut LP proved Filth were true contenders to old-school Death Metal barbarity thawed in the present, ‘Death Exhibition’ sees the power-trio sounding both more finessed and more barbaric. The formula has hardly changed, thankfully, but the foundations of their sound are expanded further here: whether it’s the crude, tank-rolling crush of Grave’s first two albums (including the dips into doomier territory on ‘You’ll Never See…’) or the sooty angularity of Immolation’s first two (the birth of the ‘backwards riff’ sequence in Death Metal), Filth go the distance in punishing the body and tormenting the mind on ‘Death Exhibition’.

Most poignant case in point: the dank crypt of instrumental ‘…Inhumed…’, where flanged-out bass begins the plummet to unfathomable depths, establishing both atmosphere and physical presence of a most intimidating nature, and then carried to its conclusion in companion instrumental ‘…Exhumed…’, where the chasm to (and from) that crypt becomes a hypnotically haunting trudge. Who else is doing such exemplary work with Death Metal instrumentals?

Naturally, other similarly old-school influences can be spotted – Demilich, Autopsy, Incantation, Finland’s Abhorrence – but rest assured that Filth inject their own personality (and just a slight bit of weirdness) into the bubbling cauldron to remain authentic rather than ripping off someone else’s past. Add in humid, wholly analog production and you truly have a Death Exhibition worth reckoning.

Werewolf Records proud to present Chamber Of Unlight’s ‘Avernus’: “The past isn’t alive because it never died: the secrets to those mysteries reside within Chamber Of Unlight.”

July 4, 2026

Werewolf Records is proud to present Chamber Of Unlight’s highly anticipated second album, ‘Avernus’, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

Formed in 2016, Chamber Of Unlight began as the solo work of multi-instrumentalist Necrosis. The man stands as a prolific veteran of Finland’s esteemed Extreme Metal landscape; during the past 25-plus years, his credits include Deathchain, Ajattara, Shade Empire, and Trollheims Grott. In 2021, the band released their momentous debut album, ‘Realm of the Night’. Here, Necrosis was joined by drummer Lrh: himself an equally prolific Finnish veteran whose credits likewise include Deathchain and Trollheims Grott but also Horna, Bythos, Forgotten Horror, Striges, and Black Death Ritual among others, and erstwhile Deathchain guitarist Leper. Together, the trio conjured the eldritch essence of ’90s Finnish Black Metal in a manner both reverential and refreshing, distilling the essence of the ancients with a palatable air of modernity. Following its release, a live lineup was instituted with the addition of bassist Vnom, guitarist Infection, and keyboardist Spellgoth, which thusly made their membership a veritable goldmine of Finnish underground metal excellence.

Now arrives Chamber Of Unlight’s first work with that six-headed lineup, ‘Avernus’. Thankfully, no great changes have been made in the band’s regal attack here, but their power and professionalism have been amplified to a sterling degree. With Spellgoth’s mesmerizing synths pushed to the fore, the grime of yore has yielded to a gleam that’s equal parts ice palace, cosmic vortex, and magickal realm. That the riffing continually crests, with one haunting riff doled out after another and nightsky leads evoking wonder and wanderlust, further suggests magickal workings within Chamber Of Unlight’s still-expanding world. The cauldron truly bubbles over and its astral mists swirl with ‘Avernus’ utterly majestic production: tangibly physical, most definitely organic, but polished to a grand and diabolical shine that’s blinding to those with eyes to see. And if those eyes are indeed open, the thoughts that ‘Realm of the Night’ evoked, that such an attack (regally) recalls lost classics of the late ’90s, particularly those released by Necropolis Records or No Fashion, absolutely spill over across this album’s deceptively epic 36 minutes. The past isn’t alive because it never died: the secrets to those mysteries reside within Chamber Of Unlight.

July 3, 2026

On September 4th internationally, Personal Records is proud to present Demonic Manifestation’s highly anticipated third album, ‘Grimshrine’, on CD format.

Demonic Manifestation are a Mexican Death Metal band from Colima, formed in 2012 after years of different parallel projects among its members. Driven by a passion for extreme, pure, and honest music, the band found their identity through the influence of the classic Swedish Death Metal scene and the raw essence of the ’90s underground sound.

Inspired by such legendary acts as Dismember, Grave, Entombed, Unleashed, Pestilence, and Crematory, Demonic Manifestation developed a sound rooted in old-school Death Metal while embracing darker and more decadent atmospheres. Two full-lengths resulted: 2015’s ‘World of Horror’ and 2017’s ‘Necrokult’, which saw the band blend chaos, horror, and aggression with a strong commitment to authenticity over technical excess. Death Metal by maniacs, for maniacs: Demonic Manifestation were truly the real deal.

However, recordings from the band have been sparse this decade; their last-released songs were on a six-way split from 2020. Nevertheless, Demonic Manifestation remained active within the underground and, at long last, are prepared to renew their raw and macabre vision of Death Metal with ‘Grimshrine’. Featuring a new power-trio lineup, ‘Grimshrine’ absolutely explodes with the dark, melodic magick of early Swedeath. No more but definitely no less, Demonic Manifestation craft Death Metal of this style with the authenticity, class, and power of true disciples: and true masters. Blink and you might think that ‘Grimshrine’ was a lost relic of 1992, so stout its ancient spell.

Why reinvent the wheel when you can simply crush it? Demonic Manifestation keep it rolling with ‘Grimshrine’!

Wolfkult Religion ready to release Bloodsoaked Necrovoid’s self-titled EP as 7″ vinyl: “As if gazing into the abysmal void of space, crested upon the megalith of shadows, Bloodsoaked Necrovoid conjures the darkest form of doomed Death Metal over the span of 13 and a half minutes…”

July 1, 2026

Currently at press for a WolfKult Religion release: Bloodsoaked Necrovoid’s self titled 7″ EP.

Released a few weeks ago on cassette tape by Iron Bonehead Productions, this massive 2-track EP will now be presented in its intended form, a classic 7″ EP.

Recorded by Marc Necrohelm at Abysmal Studios and optimized for vinyl by Dan Lowndes (Cruciamentum) at Resonance Sound Studio for the audio side and artwork by MFAXII and new layout by Ash (Ash // Graphic Decay/Seed Of Doom) for its looks, this 7″ EP is destined to become one of the heaviest and most intense releases of the WolfKult Religion catalogue.

This 7″ EP will be released in only 150 copies, and will be available in classic black and clear vinyl.

Estimated time of arrival: late summer 2026. Well in time for the band’s planned trek through Europe later this year.

We at VM-Underground reviewed the EP as followed: “As if gazing into the abysmal void of space, crested upon the megalith of shadows, Bloodsoaked Necrovoid conjures the darkest form of doomed Death Metal over the span of 13 and a half minutes, hurling any who choose to read its spells far and deep into the aether from which it came.”

Hesperia and Hammerheart Records let you experience the darkness of the Marche region with the new album ‘Picenum’: “This is Medieval Black Metal in the vein of the ’90s but adds some Renaissance parts and some ’80s proto Black Metal passages.”

June 30, 2026

This winter and historical Black Metal is true Marchigian Black Metal!

‘Picenum (True Marchigian Black Metal Renaissance)’ is the natural continuation of ‘Fra Li Monti Sibillini’, expanding its concept to the entire Marche region; the title Picenum indicates the ancient name for a large part of this region. The album is set mostly in the late Middle Ages but also at the beginning of the Renaissance, here highlighted in its darker sides, experienced through the darkness of my region and the places where I was born.

After a brief intro about the region’s ancient origins, the album is divided into 3 parts:

  • The first is dedicated to the history and the very dark legends of the region Marche: the Da Varano Lords who rebelled against the Church by joining the Cursed League in 1375; the history and legend of the Rocca di Pitino (Pitino Fortress) and its deconsecrated church and cemetery; the history and legend of the very dark Roccaccia (The Ugly Fortress) and its warlord necromancer, a servant of the devil.
  • The second is dedicated to the folklore and legends of my region: lu lupu mannà (the Marchigian werewolf), the Mazzamurello (a dark Marchigian sprite), the Sdrega (the Marchigian witch), before returning once again to the Sibilline Mountains. In this part, Hesperus’ grandmother’s voice (R.I.P.) narrates these folklore legends a couple of times (she knew quite a few). Here a bigger amount of Marchigian dialect than Italian (more than ‘Fra li Monti Sibillini’).
  • The third and longest part is, in fact, a continuation that closes the circle with the previous album, and the part is ‘Ritorno fra li monti Sibillini’ (Return to the Sibilline Mountains), with two tracks focusing on the goat-fairies and the Sibylla, and another two tracks that speak of the geographical novel of the Chevalier De la Sale, a real historical figure who was tasked with exploring the Sibilline Mountains and understanding what was inside the Sibylla’s cave; thus, not a knight from an epic poem like in the previous album. He truly met the inhabitants of Montemonaco (Mons Daemoniacus) who led him to the vestibule of the Sibylla’s cave (on the summit of Monte Sibilla) and told him numerous stories of those who entered the cave, including that of a German knight who returned because he was not forgiven by the Church and remained there… forever (the last track: the final 12’ suite).

Stylistically, the album has many similarities with the previous record (a Medieval Black Metal in the vein of the ’90s) but adds some Renaissance parts and some ’80s proto Black Metal passages. As you will notice, there are folk/ambient interludes as in the previous album, but they are not on separate tracks; they are at the end of each track (incorporated into the tracks even if they appear in the tracklist).

Beware, the devil rides out: ‘You’ve Got Everything To Worry About’

Blood Harvest Records proud to announce debut EP from Dishumane: “Unrelenting, pure Death Metal for fans of classic ’90s Death and brutal Death Metal alike: Dishumane don’t aim to reinvent the wheel so much as spin it malevolently and then crush it.

June 11, 2026

Blood Harvest Records is proud to present Dishumane’s striking debut EP, ‘Centurion’s Demise’, on CD, 12″ vinyl, and cassette tape formats.

Dishumane, in their current iteration, have been a long time coming. The band was formed by guitarist James Shanks, and has been slowly but steadily building up over the past few years. The process was never easy, but at long last, Dishumane are ready to present their first recording, the four-song, 15-minute EP ‘Centurion’s Demise’.

Their history goes back to Shanks recording songs all on his own for a couple of years under the name Sadistic Malevolence. Nothing would really come of them; however, they showed potential. Dishumane really became a reality when Shanks met drummer Dave Procopio. Procopio had a deep understanding of true Death Metal music, similar to Shanks: many love Death Metal, but to fully understand it is a rare occasion when meeting someone else. Shanks and Procopio would go on to have a meetup and rehearsal session in Seattle, where a Guitar Center there used to offer band practice times. They rented out the space and came up with many, and they mean many, amazing drum patterns and guitar riffs. The chemistry was perfect. Months apart would come to pass, but they would communicate daily, and both would be practicing to hone their craft. A year later, after attending an Incantation show in Amityville, New York, Shanks would make a connection with drummer Charlie Koryn, concurrently of Incantation and Ascended Dead. Shanks flew out to San Diego not long after to record Dishumane’s first official EP with Koryn on drums and Chuck Sherwood (also erstwhile of Incantation) on bass.

Blood Harvest realized Dishumane’s potential and signed the band immediately. The first fruit of this union is said EP, ‘Centurion’s Demise’. Unrelenting, pure Death Metal for fans of classic ’90s Death and brutal Death Metal alike: Dishumane don’t aim to reinvent the wheel so much as spin it malevolently and then crush it. Aesthetic comparisons include the likes of Immolation, Morpheus Descends, Deicide, Gorgasm, and Incantation, of course; but on evidence of ‘Centurion’s Demise’ alone, Dishumane’s forthcoming debut album will be a force to be reckoned with.

Arckanum and Darkness Shall Rise Productions announce new EP: “This is neither a return nor a repetition, but a manifestation forged through decades of spiritual workings, experience, and endurance.”

June 3, 2026

On July 20th internationally, Darkness Shall Rise Productions is proud to present a brand-new EP from Arckanum, ‘Motestandarin’, on 7″ vinyl format. Digital release date shall be June 22nd, when preorders for the 7″ vinyl begin.

‘Motestandarin’ features two songs from the forthcoming 10th studio album of legendary Swedish Black Metal entity Arckanum.

‘Beswærilsin’ (to be released in October 2026) and its precursor EP ‘Motestandarin’ mark the beginning of Arckanum’s third phase: an initiation emerging from a deeper stratum of the Thursian current. This is neither a return nor a repetition, but a manifestation forged through decades of spiritual workings, experience, and endurance. Across eleven ritualistic compositions on the upcoming album, the past is not revisited through nostalgia, but reawakened as a living anti-cosmic force.

The ‘Motestandarin’ EP is, next to digital and streaming, also available as a strictly limited 7″ vinyl edition, restricted to 218 hand-numbered copies (only available in the DSR webshop).

Founded in 1992, Arckanum stands among the oldest and most revered names in Swedish Black Metal. Created and led solely by Shamaatae, the project has released nine full-length albums and numerous EPs throughout its more-than-three-decade history.

‘Beswærilsin’ will be Arckanum’s first full-length album in nine years. Furthermore, two additional albums have already been written and are scheduled for release in the coming years through Darkness Shall Rise.
