Neverlight Horizon – Perfection in Murder’s Art [Demo]

neverlight horizon – perfection in murder’s art [demo]

Info

Another great grind influenced Death Metal band. This style seems to have their golden years, bands keep coming, and the average quality level is surprisingly high. This is such a band from Belgium, Neverlight Horizon. The band started back in 1999 under the name ‘Born Of Fire’, as the name suggests the band played some kind of hardcore/metalcore. The band wanted to walk a more brutal path and decided to play in the shadows of their great influences like Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and Dying Fetus.

I think not many words are needed here, as the music is exact as those influences. I can clearly hear the Cannibal influences in the way of writing songs, the little licks between and during the riffs speak for itself. What’s really ear catching are the vocals, this could be George Corpsegrinder himself. Not quite a bad compliment I think!

Actually this whole demo is of good a quality. In eighteen minutes five songs will rush through your ears, fast riffing, blasting bass lines and fast blastbeats characterise this release. With a bigger budget and a better studio and producer, I’m sure this band could measure itself with the heroes of the American scene. That is one of the weaker spots of this demo, the sound quality could be better, but hey, this is a demo right!? The other thing is that it isn’t original at all, but who’s gives a damn anyway?

It’s no wonder that Deadsun Records is happy to release this demo on a mini CD next April. Watch this band!

Fuck originality!
