I’m not really into the whole Keller Synth thing myself, but sometimes there are some quality releases here and there. And I much prefer when the individuals behind these projects don’t try too hard to simply copy the whole Grausamkeit esthetics.

Bätlick, despite drawing its obvious influence from the aforementioned German band, actually manages to offer some quite grotesque and cavernous Black Metal that has a lot of personality.

I can’t speak the whole discography (which is quite large, I might add), but ‘Cave Sessions 2’ is a sickening, dense and ugly piece of raw music that evokes a sense of dread and helplessness into the listener.

I know I already used the word “cavernous” before, but that’s precisely what this demo sounds like. As if you’re lost into the ever growing darkness of unknown depths and there are unseen eyes and claws preying in the surrounding blackness.

This demo is highly recommended if you want to experience something that may go beyond a simple auditory experience.
