A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

With a band name like this and such an old school cover, it was a no brainer to click play. And, yes, of course I simply got what I bargained for. These guys from Chigaco, Illinois, USA offer you no bullshit, just plain and beer-soaked balls out metal to bang your fist to.

An EP that clocks well under half an hour and brings you 6 tracks of some utterly straight forward guitar driven Blackened Speed Metal, including a Venom cover (‘Angel Dust’). What else would you need? If you really still had a tiny bit of doubt about what you were dealing with, it’s titles like ‘Motorpriest’ and ‘Speed Metal Sluts’ that will rob you of that. Although the music might not have any subtlety, aargh those great barking vomits, it is very well executed and that is especially evident in the great guitar licks. Right, this is metal in its purest and most original form, close to bands like Midnight, Abigail and Toxic Holocaust. Sure, these are indebted to Venom and Motörhead, but you’d have to be as deaf as Stevie Wonder not to hear that (oh… wait… well, you get the point). So: hang up your bullet belt, smash a bottle of beer and spit your evil.
