A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

If you want to go back in time approx. 30 years and play your Death Metal in an old School way some bands in California and Florida are known for, you better do it well as you have some competition nowadays. Mental Casket from Warsaw, Poland does it well, I can tell you that already.

The roaring guitar riffs, the simple yet pounding and effective drums as well as the song structures are definitely for fans of Death’s “Scream Bloody Gore” and “Leprosy” as well as Autopsy’s “Severed Survival” and “Mental Funeral”. But maybe the name of the band gave that away already…and the logo…well….

And sure, those classicks are sitting on their thrones still, never to be thrown off again, but Mental Casket made a more than decent demo that does justice to 2 of the influential masters of Death Metal. (Ricardo)
