A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

After their full-length album in 2015, the fourth EP is a fact from this Australian band. They categorized their sound into the death metal style, with lots of groove, and that’s an understatement, cause this EP with four tracks is a volcano of groove in my opinion. In this 20 minutes EP the vocals from Tyson Braithwaite is the first thing that comes into the picture for me! What a wide range this dude has! A great death metal voice, that fits perfectly with the old school death metal which is the base of their sound.

Musically seen the opening riff from track ‘Explusion of the Seed’ is top notch, the rest of the musical input is just above average level, besides the great tempo and blast beats in the title track perhaps. These EP won’t stand out among the huge pool of death metal releases cause the lack of originality, but just for the vocals itself you have to give this one a listen! Just start with track ‘Explusion of the Seed’ and give the title track a chance, and then put this on your wanted list if you’re convinced. (Fredde)
