Paranoiac – Morbid Psycho [Demo]

paranoiac – morbid psycho [demo]

Info

From Los Angeles, USA comes this relatively new band, Paranoiac. A Thrash Metal band that last summer self-released their 3-track demo tape ‘Morbid Psycho’. In less than 10 minutes, these gentlemen hammer their vicious Thrash Metal into your skull.

Three songs in less than ten minutes, fast choppy riffs, lots of Kerry King/Hannemann whammy solos, pounding non-blast beat drums and great barking vocals… Yes, this is Slayer worship through and through. Slayer between 1986 and 1990 to be more precise. Staccato, riff-driven and violent to the max. Sometimes things don’t need to be that complicated, just crank up the volume and bash out those riffs. This is the kind of Thrash Metal that is hardly ever made any more, this is completely free of modernities, as well as too much Punk and the hints of Black Metal or Death Metal are also kept to a minimum here. ‘Morbid Psycho’ is “just” Thrash Metal as it was once played by so many at once in the 1980s. The abandon with which Paranoiac brings their Evil Thrash Metal is certainly quite unique today and it makes ‘Morbid Psycho’ easily the best Thrash Metal demo of recent years.

The 100 copies of the demo tape were already sold when I ran into them, making it now impossible to get, but I am hoping for a label like Dying Victims Records to pick them up for and take care for a proper vinyl release of these three great tracks.
