2-Track demo by German based Old School Death Metal band Crypts. First off, “Paura”, Italian word for fear, this 7 minute track opens with a pretty catchy riff, I find myself immediately nodding my head along. the drum sound is a bit dry, but powerful and very detailed. After two minutes the song slows down, and breaks up into a short atmospheric midpiece. Whispers, some acoustic guitars, to build up again to that thumping midtempo Death Metal sound. This happens again near the end of the song, now with a more epic and melancholic feel to it, without getting cheesy. Smart choice to open this promo with “Paura”, it etalates the skills of this four piece band.
Second one is “Hallucinations”. Not a cover of “Atrocity’s” masterpiece by the way. This one’s more forward, faster, aggressive yet none the less a very powerful well produced track. Again the power and musicality of the drummer sets this track on fire. Nice promo/demo. (Franki_boj)
