A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

After quite a steady and impressive working pace, the duo that makes up this Russian Black Metal band fell kind of silent by late 2021. In November of that year the band’s last effort, ‘Demo VII’, saw its release and it took them up to April of 2023 to come up with this new demo, a 2-track demo clocking a mere 5 minutes.

But well, it is not about length, aye boys? It may have taken some time, but that has not affected the musical direction of the twosome. It may all sound a bit fuller, but the simplistic nature of the music combined with the raw and barbaric power that borders on the intensity of Punk are still prominent and form the blueprint of the band. The chaotic and noisy component seems a bit less present due to the slightly less muffled sound, but it is still not quite a polished Watain sort of sound that we have to struggle through. Is it noisy Black Metal that keeps your clock ticking and it can’t be too gritty and savage enough for you? Then Knüth is your best bet.
