A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

After a stellar demo from 2014, the darkness of necromancy comes alive in the first full-length from New Zealand’s Verberis. The music delivers on every level: it captures that menacing occult spirit of Mortuary Drape, while still adding their own touch. In fact, I would regard “Vexamen” as one of the best black/death albums that I’ve heard from a New Zealand act. Every song on this album is an exercise in aural darkness, with lengths ranging anywhere from three to eight minutes. Some of my favourite songs include “Fangs of Pazuzu” and “Charnel Vibrations.” Definitely check them out if you’re into bands like Lantern, Mortuary Drape and Black Grail. (Filth Bearer)
