A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Cavernous, maleficent, obscure Death Metal shatters my ears! Damnation may come! Temple Nightside from Australia celebrate their 10 years existence with a their 4th album called “Pillars of Damnation” and what a record!

Their last full length was killer, I liked the vibe, the brutality and the details (music, lyrics, and artwork wise). With “Pillars..” they just went a step beyond madness. The artwork by Nether Temple Design is dark and entrancing, one of the coolest works recently. The production is raw, reverb drenched and obviously very fitting to the sound presented by Temple Nightside.

The songs, they vary from very doomish, primordial guts oriented manifestations to more flesh eating, bone sawing, blast oriented slashers or a combination of’em that will drive you crazy. The dynamics, with ritardandos, breaking down speeds, changing atmosphere in a very subtle way and well thought out…they are just sick!

The musicianship leaves no doubts, each member plays on high standards and shows it here and there BUT using their crafts to serve the music, not the other way around. Imagine Grave Miasma, Corpse Molestation, Morbid Angel (“Gateways to Annihilation”) and Vassafor joining forces to create an opus full of darkness and death! Just to give you an idea, but expect nothing but MADNESS!!.

This is one of those records that you have to listen to in its entirety to grasp its full splendour! With the last track “Damnation” Temple Nightside will leave you alone in darkness surrounded by your demons (good luck with it).

Another maze, another cryptic Death Metal record drenched in blood, mud and lovecraftian horrors that will rise high and erect the “Pillars of Damnation”. (DPF)
