A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

After a sturdy eight-track demo from 2018, Portuguese Black/Death assault Necrobode’s debut full length will be out via Iron Bonehead Productions on February 21st. Their malignant music captures the murky foundations of Archgoat, Bestial Raids, Proclamation and other acts with identical sonority. Compared to the earlier release, their composition has not seen noticeable changes but it gets the job done when it comes to blasting some primitive styled Black/Death savagery.

The album is entitled “Sob o Feitiço do Necrobode” meaning “Under the Spell of Necrogoat”. Like the album title, the song titles are in Portuguese too. To talk about the music of this record, Archgoat’s influence is conspicuous throughout the album. From bedeviling grooves to fierce riffing and barbaric drumbeats, this bands admiration for Archgoat is blatantly obvious. Especially “The Light-Devouring Darkness” album’s impact played a huge role here.

The album consists ten tracks and they do not hold distinguishable elements from one another. Pretty much the same pattern was followed to build up each track, still I had a great time going through the songs. (Osmani)
