Purtenance – Paradox Of Existence

purtenance – paradox of existence

Info

After 2 years since their latest album, legendary Purtenance are striking back with their heavy brand of Finnish death metal. Consisting of 4 tracks clocking in nearly 20 minutes, Purtenance did it again and created another groove oriented (there are enough high paced parts, don`t worry) slab of dark death metal with a slight hint of Bolt Thrower calling from the graves (fantastic melodies, yes). The first track didn`t caught my attention too much, more did the others (morbid guitars solos included) with their fantastic straight forward approach and focus on dark, more groove than technical oriented death metal (just what I expected from this band). Trademarks are all here, murky guitars, rumbling bass, deep grunts, pounding drums, all ingredients for the old fashioned lunatics. The real gems/classics are missing, but for an occasional spin this is a good EP. Hoping for a new full length very soon.  (DPF)
