A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

A certain gentleman called Disguster is busy as hell. Maybe we have discovered the Hungarian Rogga Johansson…Besides fine orchestras like Gravecrusher, Necrosodomy, Morbid Carnage and Tyrant Goatgaldrakona, he is also involved in another Old School Death Metal band; Coffinborn. I have to say that all his bands are a good listen and Coffinborn can be added to that list without any doubt. The band draws influences from Asphyx, the early 1990s Swedish and US scene. Swedish concerning the faster riffs on “Enter the Midnight of Horrors”, the midtempo riffs, dark atmosphere, the sound and solos are more the American scene. The title track is mostly the early American scene, blunt Old School Death Metal, but you can also hear some faster Asphyx riffs. And while we are on the Asphyx subject, just take a listen to “Putrid Stench of Death”. Asphyx all over the place! A good debut EP, already curious about the yet to form band of Disguster…it must be a direct hit as well! (Ricardo)
