A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

To celebrate the band’s first ever live appearance on this year’s edition of the NRW Deathfest in Germany, Tenebro joined forces (again) with Seven Metal Inches Records and released this 2-track 7” EP. On previous recordings, the Italian duo never made any effort to hide their love for the simplest of down-tuned gore-drenched Death Metal, and that is, frankly, just what we are being served with here as well…

The Italians have a good tradition with horror comics and movies and Tenebro have embraced that part of the national legacy with their heart and soul. On ‘Tracce Di Violenza Carnale’, we are once again treated to unadulterated heavy, Mortician-esque Death Metal of the foulest kind. The slow-dragging and all-consuming riffs are engaged in a contest with the Will Rahmer-like vocals as to who exactly reaches the lowest regions of the audio spectrum. In previous reviews, I’ve pointed out that this is fodder for those who like their Death Metal to be straightforward and have a heartfelt aversion to technically-driven wizardry. If you had a good time with everything these Italians released before, you can’t go wrong with this. Not yet familiar with Tenebro but a fan of old Mortician or a band like Undergang or Anatomia? Then definitely make your move…
