A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Sweden, Bulgaria and Spain. Not really a combination you would probably think of when you listen to the Death / Doom Metal tunes of Nangilima. Yet, thanks to the digital possibilities these days, it is possible. After releasing 3 singles, “The Dark Matter” is the debut album of these guys. Like almost all albums in this particular genre, it sounds heavy and melancholic. It’s mostly slow with an occasional keyboard to enhance the atmosphere. A slight heavier and darker version of Swallow the Sun’s “The Morning Never Came”, yet also less catchier. The growl is monotonous, which shouldn’t be a problem if you manage to create variation with the riffs, accompanied with the atmosphere created by the keyboard. I keep an eye on their next album, as I think they can do better than what they are showing with “The Dark Matter” (Ricardo)
