Gutvoid’s origins reside among the cosmos, in the wandering galaxies of deathly digust all the while still claimimg Toronto in Canada, back here on Earth with The Elder Things, their actual home. This ethereal horror dwelling band launched their initial journey way back in the Earth year of 2019 as a two piece set or explorers and quickly released their written account of the awes and horrors they had experienced with their otherworldly EP, ‘Astral Bestiary’.
The very next year a horrifying account of just one of their two man, self-descriptive, expeditions was published in the aptly titled single ‘Forbidden City Beneath The Crypt’. Next up, in the year 2021, Gutvoid recruited two more explorers for their crew before heading out on the four band trek in the ‘Four Dimensions of Auditory Terror’ split. Now, well as of 2022, we are graced with a full (full-length) account of many more tales from this intrepid band of explorers in the fabulous ‘Durance Of Lightless Horizons’.
And what have these voyagers of misfortune brought back for us now? Even more horrificly prestigious Death Metal that is in line (sound wise) with all their previous journeys. But it is riddled and pocked with the hallmarks of their gained experience, in the field, appallingly shining through. The already outstanding storytelling and (song) writing has only improved with the gained experience the band of four now has after the many taxing and horrendous expeditions that they have ventured off of on together.
