The Swedish label Blood Harvest presents to your attention this two song split release of two Australian bands: Contaminated and Kutabare.
Contaminated are first with “Death Sick”, a furious Death Metal song that starts with grinding blastbeats, transforms into slower Doom/Death passage and then goes full speed ahead again. Very good deep growls from Mark Boulton who reminds me of the late and great Joe Ptacek from Broken Hope.
The second song with the funny title “Funeral Erection”comes from Kutabare, the name of the band turns out to be an insulting way to say ‘die’ in Japanese. This band sounds much more punk compared to Contaminated. Impetigo seems to be a big influence on them. Their vocalist Mike FB is also part of the old Australian grindcore band Filth which I remember from their releases in the 1990’s.
This split is one pretty enjoyable release and both bands are of good quality. Both of them has released one full-length album so check them out and support the underground! (Zvetan)
