A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Dauþuz, Black Metal, Germany.

So far, nothing out of ordinary, right? But when your lyrics are about mines, mining and fantasy-like stories about them, you’re are dealing with a subject not a lot of others are dealing with. And that is an understatement.

With ‘Grubenfall 1727’ they are singing about a mine that collapsed for example. The Black Metal you hear by this fine act is Epic with tremolo melodies, Black Metal screams ala the Medieval scene, chants and the tracks have a duration of 8 minutes, while the closing track ‘Die letzte Fahrt’ is an epos of almost 20 minutes even.

As you can read, Dauþuz is going for the whole experience-package sort of speak, they want to bring the listener with them in their world. I dare to say they succeeded, as ‘Grubenfall 1727’ beholds some enchanting Epic Black Metal for sure.
