Vahrzaw – Twin Suns and Wolves’ Tongues

Info

Australian black/death terror combo Vahrzaw already exists since 1992 (as Necromancy and Midgard to name a few before changing in Vahrzaw in 1994). After some demos, splits and EPs they finally released a full length in 2009, which gained some good responses in the Underground. 5 years later their second album becomes real. „Twin Suns and Wolve`s Tongues“ is a massive slab of black/death ranging from groovy mid tempo section to furious blasting(Aussies are good known for this kind of stuff) without missing some nice melodies here and there (Dismember). Mixing between American death metal (Morbid Angel/Immolation anyone?) your typical Australian metal, Scandinavian frost and even crusty parts, Vahrzaw show that they are capable to give every track his variation and still have their own sound without copy their faves. Production fits the sound perfect and in terms of musicianship their on pair with the best. A bit more variation in the vocals would have made this release even greater (still great though). Interesting to see/hear what these guys will offer us next. I am waiting to hear some new stuff for sure. Until then give this album a spin (or 2). (DPF)
