A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Cadaveric Incubator are a three-piece band from Finland and what they offer in their second full-length album ‘Nightmare Necropolis’ are eight tracks of relentless Death metal/Grindcore.

Necroterror (vocals/guitars), Pentele (drums) and Noisehunter (bass) know how to make your neck break by their brutal guitar riffing, rumbling bass, stomping drumming and the deep growls of Necroterror. Terrorizer seems to be one of the main influences of this Finnish grinders but there is also this insane brutality that reminds of bands like Vomitory.

Since the opening track ‘World Necrosis’ the sound is relentless and there is no rest for the listener. Not everything is on speed though. Cadaveric Incubator implement some slower and more groovy passages in their grindcore assault like in the fourth track ‘Sarcophagidae’ that remind me of bands like Hooded Menace. ‘Through the Flesh’ offers some variety in the vocal department with higher vocals compared to the predominant deep growls and presents a crushing mid-tempo part while on ‘Frenzied Hatred’ you can hear gurgling vocals like in any of the hundreds of Gore/Grind bands. The closing track ‘Coffin Defiler’ offers sick groove in the vein of early Pungent Stench with some gurgling vocals again. So you see that variety is present in ‘Nightmare Necropolis’.

This is one remarkable extreme record that will be joy for the ears of every Death/Grind fan. Check them out!
