Hailing from Australia, Carcinoid formed in 2018 and currently have a demo, a full-length release and two split releases. Now in 2023, a new EP titled ‘Encomium To Extinction’ has surfaced out of the dark gloomy depths of despair from this Doom-ridden Death Metal band to annihilate us all!

Picture a tank battle with rapid firing and the grinding of steel from battered machinery amongst the beaten down earth as it shakes with no hope for tomorrow. Stepping up on the heavy side of things with a filthy tone, Carcinoid have brought out an even more effective and punishing outcome this time around. Hints of an older Bolt Thrower sound and style can give an idea of what you are dealing with here, especially around the ‘Realm of Chaos’ era. Ultimately, heavy riffing rules in this arena of devastation while the solid battery of the drums keeps all in order. With a superior low end that just pummels and bashes its way through all obstacles, the fierce vomit-like growling assures you that extinction is well under way.

In final, what we have here is a pure Old School Death Metal offering that reeks of filth and maggot ridden decomposition that takes you right into the field of brutal incursion.
