A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Daaaamn, this sounds heavy and massive! Gregor Mackintosh’s Vallenfyre is back with a second album and the standard is set with the opening track “Scabs”. The Old School Death Metal has hints with both the Swedish scene (the d-beat) as the US one (Autopsy) and not surprisingly you hear a lot of old Paradise Lost stuff as well with Mackintosh’s signature guitar playing. On “Odious Bliss” Celtic Frost is clearly present. Some say it’s a tad boring or just a simple follow-up of “A Fragile King”, but to me it’s one hell of an aggressive album filled with fuzzy, sorrowful and massive Old School Death Metal. “These wounds will never heal!” (Ricardo)
