A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Vitriol was bursting out in the scene from nowhere. The hype around this Death Metal band is considerable, especially when you see them performing live you know where the hype is coming from. I saw them last year and I was stunned as this Death Metal machinery takes no prisoners. I absolutely enjoyed their performance, far more than Nile who were the headliner this evening. But can the studio album live up to this hype?

In my opinion; yes. This monstrous Death Metal war machine shows the band’s strength very well as the tight playing creates a dense wall of sound that feels like an aggressive onslaught on the senses. Their sound would stand comparison to the Florida’s Death Metal bands like Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal or Deicide. Vitriol are not retro, they are just good classic brutal Death Metal with a touch of early/middle Behemoth. This was for me one of the best Death Metal album of 2019. (HaCeBo)
