Necromancy is considered as the “the band before” of Necromantia, one of the Greek Black Metal pioneers, due the presence of the mighty Morbid / Magus Wampyr Daoloth. All 3 Greek bands (Rotting Christ, Varathron and Necromantia) have released albums that are special to me. The Greek Black Metal style and sound is unique. Necromancy on this EP, is more Death/Thrash with a raw early Sepultura edge due the vocals. The 3 tracks are recorded, without MWD, in 1991 but never got released because Living Dead, the vocalist, died during military service. Im glad Nuclear War Now released this one! The first track could be a haunting John Carpenter theme from an old movie like Halloween and Christine. Its not a difficult song, but so damn creepy, evil and eerie! 10 minutes long! The other tracks are fine as well, but this is already a must have just for the first track only. (Ricardo)
