A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Rarely, we instantly understand Japanese things when they come to us. From their traditions, everyday habits to food and educational system to movies (and especially, Japanese porn). We might be drawn to them because they’re different from what we’re used to, yet we occasionally can’t categorize them, because there’s almost too much of everything in there.

An incredibly good example of that definition is the debut album by Japanese band Sex Messiah. Since this band has been active for over a decade and have a decent amount of shorter releases under their belt, they certainly know how to brew up an interesting mixture of sounds and genres for a really unique release. It might start off with some power electronics but soon it transforms into black metal mixed with some death metal, thrash, crossover and Japanese punk. Some melody in the guitar leads and some experimental parts, some black metal screaming and some old school riffs are added.

Yes, true, there is almost too much of everything in there, but hey, war metal has a tendency to get associated with chaos a lot. But, on the other side ‘Pure originality in the arts is neither different, nor new, it’s merely Chaos.’
