A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Necrogosto, out of Brazil, where warriors of ancient cacophonous extreme metal are more present than anywhere else, are back with an EP entitled “Ancestral Bestiality”. The first part of the band name is important to be aware of what is going to be heard on their recordings.

Necro says it all. The production is raw, 80’s/90’s style demo/first album qualities to grasp fully the atmospheric aspect of the sound. Sarcofago, Necrofago, first Mystifier and the likes have to be named and immediately connects with Necrogosto’s music. That mix of thrashy riffs, uptempo beats’til blasts, slow paced heaviness from depths of hell where Satans dwell (yes, many Satans).

This is Necrometal all the way and has a certain charm that melts your brain If you dig deep enough and let you reptilian brain take over, “Perversions at Necrotemple” is a good example for that.

After almost 22 minutes the rollercoaster has passed and you feel the need the release to this barbarity. If you dig this style and approach, this might appeal to you. Old school never dies! (DPF)
