Mørketida – Panphage Mysticism

mørketida – panphage mysticism

“Panphage Mysticism” is a grim and unrelenting debut full length album from Finnish Black Metal monstrosity Mørketida, that takes us on a dissonant, slow, and brooding journey into the depths. Low tempo drums lay the foundation for the fuzzy tone of the guitars that give us catchy riffs performed in a raw and impressive fashion, and are without a doubt the highlight of this release.

The vocals sit very low in the mix, but do not for one second think that this takes away from the haunting atmosphere of these chilling tales of Luciferian occult lore. The vocals deliver a subtle, yet powerful addition to this record as they echo throughout this fantastic album with low, raspy, yet visceral styling. Much of the record tends to follow a slower, near blackened doom approach, however, it does deliver glimpses of searing tremolo riffs and thundering percussive sections to make this a truly balanced Black Metal powerhouse. If you’re looking for something a bit different, please do yourself a favor and give “Panphage Mysticism” by Mørketida a listen! (Azag Galla)
