A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

It starts with a a long intro before hell is unleashed over the listener. Thy Sepulchral Moon loves older Mayhem, since there are a lot of similarities in sound, rawness and vocal disturbance. The drum computer is a matter of taste. The music is very harsh, mostly tremolo picked chords with simple structures and slow parts changing into your typical up-tempo beat. The aura they create is dark and malevolent, which is their biggest achievement for this compilation as well as the terrific vocal performance. Sometimes they also remind me of Blood of Kingu in terms of vocals, riff progression and  atmosphere. This is traditional black metal and not for posers. Black metalists should risk an ear. (DPF)
