A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

While giving this album a couple of spins, the weather here in The Netherlands is creating a perfect ambience for this kind of Black Metal; morning fog, rain, it is darker than it should be at this time in the morning…pure sombreness. Autumn can be beautiful.

Magister L. is the main man behind this one-man project from Colombia and has his share in the recent history of the Colombian Extreme Metal scene. Still, he had to form Atrium for his urge to create synth driven 90’s influenced cosmic Black Metal. Or he calls it; “a conceptual album that follows some lucid and not-lucid dreams”. Atrium’s musical concept meets the ones of Evilfeast, Paysage d’Hiver and old Lunar Arora, although the production is less hazy on “Ancient Spells” and it has more stargazing dark melodies than icy rawness.

The debut of Atrium has turned out into a very good one in my book, definitely one to check out if synth driven cosmic Black Metal is your thing. (Ricardo)
