A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Horror-themed Mexican Death Metal squad Summoning Death are back with an EP, which beholds 2 new tracks and 2 covers.

The new tracks ‘Night of the Creeps’ and ‘Halloween 4’ are a continuation of their previous efforts, Old School Death Metal in the Swedish and Finnish way during the early 90s. Which can be easily heard in the sound, the riffs and drum patterns. It is no rocket science, but when the shoe fits…it fits. Besides the expected riffs and sound, ‘Night of the Creeps’ also has a typical Paganizer / Revolting…let’s say Rogga start. With ‘Halloween 4’ the emphasis lays on creating an creepy atmosphere with a repeating riff at the background.

Our Mexican amigos aren’t shy to record covers of their influences. On previous releases they already covered Carnage and Depravity (yes, the Finnish one with the mighty ‘Silence of the Centuries’ EP) and this time they have chosen Traumatic’s ‘The Morbid Act of a Sadistic Rape Incision’ and Edge of Sanity’s ‘Darkday’, which are both well executed.

A fun and decent EP with the vibe of yore.
