A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Thulsa Doom hail from Italy and know how to make some straight evil sounding thrashing Death Metal. Their debut EP ‘Realms of Hatred’ on Invictus Productions is very reminiscent of Sadistic Intent and early Morbid Angel. They definitely came out swinging with this release. Its fast, evil, filthy and downright awesome. It’s short and to the point, a quick punch to the throat (and I like that). There isn’t one boring moment on this EP, and they also add a haunting instrumental interlude half way through.

I really enjoyed this EP and will definitely be giving it a lot more spins. It just rules, plain and simple. Fast thrashing riffs and catchy guitar leads that cut right through you, pummeling drums, and hateful in your face vocals. It also has a old feel to it where it would be right at home next to some of the great albums of the late 80s/early 90s. I can’t wait to hear more from this band and I highly recommend that you give this EP a go.
