‘Slither in Slime’ is the second full-length album by Rotheads who originally began their eerie Death Metal journey in 2014.
Cavernous vocals of a guttural nature echo outwards from a strange demonic being while heavy guitars sizzle with a distorted thrashy tone to fuel the fire. Obscure interludes and leads can be heard at times which add to the darkness felt within this album that gives the listener hints of an older Finnish Death Metal style incorporated here. Yet, there are also moments where influences of an older American sounding Death Metal comes to life, especially with some of the fast-chugging riffs when all goes full out in brutality or in parts where mid-tempo sections are present and a groove feel will come across as well.
Featuring well crafted leads throughout, they always seem to tell a story of sadness and misery while the heavy rhythm guitars and bass guide you along before you fall into the foul abyss. This feeling or combination is truly the black magic from Rotheads that keeps one thinking you are in some sort of slimy catacomb where cryptic beings do slither indeed! Overall, ‘Slither in Slime’ presents itself as a very crisp and solid entity where thought and creation are well placed and one is in the middle of an H.P. Lovecraft scenario.
