Straight from Prague, Czechia, Snět executes some gripping Death Metal that have left me eager to hear more of them, primarily because their first release called “Promo 2019” only contains 2 tracks: “Intoxikace” and “Obri Kat”.
The Czech quintet offer us a six minutes jaunt through rising and intertwined riffs which set up a delirious and dizzying discharge of Death Metal in the vein of Dismember and Unleashed’s first releases, at least in terms of the vocals at times and the rhythm of the guitar, although not having the classic distortion of the Swedes. On the other hand there are similarities with the style of Funebrarum regarding growls and rampaging rhythm changes.
Although I really enjoy this demo, perhaps it is too early to judge the full potential of this band. Even so, I highly recommend Snět to fans of ascending rhythm Death Metal, with vertiginous breaks and putrid growls. It will be worth waiting for their next release. (Alex G.J.)
