Featuring mainly slow and mid-paced riffs, the listener is treated to German Old School Death Metal with plenty of doom passages throughout.
It is quite straightforward Death Metal where a headbanging groove prevails over raw speed, though speed is definitely present, as heard on ‘Befouled Commandments’,. Combine elements of Incantation, Sinister, Bolt Thrower and early 90s Finnish Death Metal melodies, and you’ll be close to the sound of Reckless Manslaughter. In addition to a cover of Diabolical Imperium (Death/Thrash from Germany), you get a 10-minute epic titled ‘Risen from the Mass Grave’, which essentially brings everything together.
Overall, a solid record.
