There are a couple of individuals who just don’t sleep and are producing album after album, demo after demo and EP after EP. And don’t get me started about the splits. Canadian Jo Capitalicide, also in Expunged, Ice War and quite a couple of other bands and projects, can be considered as one of them in the last couple of years.
With Spectral Dance he recorded 8 releases within 2 years, ‘Crusaders of the Void’ being the last one. With this band the main man created a primitive Black Metal act which contains repeating and simple, yet effective, riffs. Rockin’ Black Metal with influences of Hellhammer (‘Necromancer in Flight’) and Bathory (‘Black Metal Invasion’) but also has room for some slight folkish epic-ness in a track like ‘A Taste of Spikes’.
This is one of those albums which isn’t special in any way, yet I was never bored while listening to it, and that counts for something as well as far as I am concerned.
