A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Well, here it is…“Far East Black Metal Onslaught” from Japanese Abigail. This time it is not one of their countless splits but rather a release just by themselves. So yeah let’s make it an EP I guess, nice and short. This release contains a good mix of up-tempo, Thrashy songs and Black ‘n Roll. Simple but solid riffing played very well as you can expect from these veterans. I sure hope they were trying to bring an old-school metal feeling, because that’s what did for me.

It is always great to get that instant feeling of gratification even though the title can be somewhat misleading for there isn’t much black metal to be found. The soloing and vocals can get on my nerves, but then again therefore this recording is too short anyway. A great piece of metal entertainment. Good for metal partying, fighting and drinking beer. I’m sure it is not meant to take it too seriously. (RuudN)
