A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Nekrovomit are an Indonesian duo who play a nasty amalgamation of Black, Death and Thrash Metal. Their 2021 demo release entitled ‘Demonic Possession’ opens with an intro track worthy of the demo name. Church bells toll, wolves howl and demonic screams are heard before the true insanity thunders into overdrive in an explosion of uber-murky lo-fi sounds. Barked visceral vocals, Buzzsaw riffs and furious drumming is the order of the day as the band plough through the title track, and in addition they also blast out diabolical fret work that sounds like a musical form of Bedlam itself. There is simply no let up in the never ending punishment from this barbaric slab of carnage. The demo truly sounds awful, everything about it is dismal and bleak and at the same time raging and vitriolic. It is ugliness incarnate, a relentless maelstrom of break neck riff-age, throat searing vocals and maniacal muffled drum beats. A more horrible demo you could not feasibly imagine. Take that as a good thing or bad, the choice is yours! (Luke Hayhurst)
