A Death/Doom Metal collaboration between the powers of the US and Japan, as Druid Lord (US) and Anatomia (Jap) join forces for their ‘Beyond Putrefaction / Horrid Fate’ split release, out on 7″ Vinyl through Me Saco Un Ojo Records and cassette via Gurgling Gore.

First thing to note is the stunning artwork, nothing original in it’s design but it still looks very much the part. Druid Lord’s ‘Beyond Putrefaction’ opens proceedings with a grim slab of filth encrusted Death Metal, featuring doom laden down tuned riffs, simple yet effective drumming and the sturdy rumble of bass, all topped off with gore filled growls from vocalist Tony Blakk. Oh it’s a murky one this, but with some terrific guitar leads and catchy riff-age thrown in, as well as a little chugging for good measure.

And now on to Japans Anatomia, a band with twenty years of sickening experience under their filth ridden belts. As you would expect from the crypts of diabolic duo Jun Tonosaki and Takashi Tanaka, ‘Horrid Fate’ is a foul sounding dirge like track, tuned so low the riffs scrape the cemetery floor. Played at a snails pace, this track crawls through the mud and detritus of human waste and straight into your ears with it’s poisonous, deadly gloom.

Brilliant little release, pure unadulterated reeking sewage, colossal towering riffs from both bands and both with festering, growled vocals. Simply put, this release is fucking nasty!
