Spain’s Sanctuarium has certainly lingered in the dark pits of the 90s with their Doom/Death Metal.
Heavy, slow riffs and occasional uptempo outbursts are paired with the gargling of a slit throat, serving as a narrator for decaying remains. A blend of Autopsy, Coffins and Incantation, along with a touch of early Cathedral, hits you like the stench of stacked bodies.
Nothing has been smoothed out, and those who prefer a modern sound won’t last long listening to this. However, these Catalonians would almost certainly take that as a compliment rather than an insult.
