A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

The third album from Hyperdontia, the Turkish/Danish alliance, is essentially what you’d expect from them. Death Metal with Old School brutality, wrapped in a framework of riffs with an American groove and the occasional heavy, dragging passage. The direction of their earlier work is continued without hesitation, meaning Hyperdontia fans likely already have this one in their collection.

If the pairing of Dark Descent Records and Me Saco Un Ojo is already a mark of quality for you, then you know what’s coming. As mentioned, this is Old School Death Metal that blends the Copenhagen scene of the last decade and their version of Incantation with influences like early Suffocation and Monstrosity. However, while the balance on ‘Nexus of Teeth’, leaned more towards the Danish sound, ‘Harvest of Malevolence’, moves closer to the latter two bands. At the end, I consider ‘Harvest of Malevolence’ as a fine effort.

Some might feel it’s a style they’ve heard a bit too much recently, but for others, it can’t be played loud enough.
