A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Spanish Black Metal-ers Balrog put out their fourth full-length album, eighteenth release over all, in 2021 but it is never to late to get to something that could be rather good. And rather good ‘Eve’ is maybe even better, on into fantastic territory even. This is one of three Balmog reviews that I am currently doing and it is nice to find that not everything they do is exactly the same (or currently has to do with salt).

With their full-length ‘Eve’ here, all the same tendencies and influences are abound that I mentioned in the previous review. Yet they have more time to fester and mature here rather than morphing into another section as quickly as they do in short form order (on EPs). The shorter tracks feel like full, compartmentalized movements compared to a whole, thought out piece but they do work together to complete that all the same in the end.

So, really it’ just more of the same fantastic modern Black Metal that Balmog tend to do, just at a different pace then they seem to like to employ on their EPs.
