Nostalgia is a bittersweet ache for the past, where memories glow warmer than they likely were. It’s the scent, sound, or glimpse of something long gone that suddenly floods the present with emotion. Often, it’s less about the actual events remembered and more about the feelings they evoke — a longing for simpler times, lost innocence, or moments that shaped us

Sadistic Goatmessiah — a name that has echoed through the deepest corridors of the German underground since 2012 — hails from the industrial heartland of North Rhine-Westphalia. However, it wasn’t until 2019 that official material began to surface. Demos, split releases, and an uncompromising compilation followed, each soaked in the unholy chaos that the name Sadistic Goatmessiah has come to represent.

Now, more than a decade after its inception, the band finally announces its full-length debut — a creation forged from years of raw experience, underground devotion, and a nihilistic vision. This is not a rushed product, but a carefully sculpted monument of destruction.

So why Nostalgia? Well, Sadistic Goatmessiah is not a band that hides its love for the first wave of Black Metal. The influences of Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Venom, Bathory, Sodom, and Possessed are unmistakable — yet without giving off the feel of a mere tribute act. This is no ordinary homage to ‘80s Metal; rather, it’s a savage Black/Thrash assault deeply rooted in the era that shaped the genre we hold dear.

Morbid Goatpriest of Lust, Filth and Mayhem’s vocals are a hellish eruption of raw power — fierce, relentless, and all-devouring. His voice cuts like rusty steel through flesh and bone, spewing pure hatred upon all that is pure and sacred. No soul is spared, no ear escapes his annihilating tirades. With demonic fury and inhuman intensity, he drags the listener into a maelstrom of depravity, perversion, and chaos. Every scream, every growl is a call to war — a sonic bloodbath where no mercy exists.

In terms of production, the album also evokes plenty of memories — raw, gritty, and filthy are the key words that come to mind when you hear it. It’s like a ride down an unpaved road, making your vehicle creak and groan with every bump. And yet, it’s a glorious ride

We had to wait a long time, but it was well worth it — with ‘Violence’, Sadistic Goatmessiah delivers a top-tier record that more than lives up to their reputation. Now it’s just a matter of waiting to see if we’ll get the chance to witness this live in the near future, because word has it that their live shows are quite the experience.
